SALT LAKE CITY — “Super Dell” Schanze, the former TV pitchman and one-time candidate for governor of Utah, is slated to take a plea deal in the federal criminal case he’s facing.
Court records show Schanze is expected to enter a plea and be sentenced on Thursday in the wildlife harassment case. Schanze is accused of chasing a migratory bird with his paraglider in an incident that was videotaped and posted on the Internet. In previous court appearances, Schanze denied it was him and insisted the video was faked.
Schanze was charged with a federal misdemeanor.
