Authorities identify cyclist hit, killed by semitrailer in Lehi

LEHI, Utah – A woman who was cycling with a group was struck by a semitrailer in Lehi, and she suffered fatal injuries.

Cpl. Wilson Silva of the Lehi Police Department said they received a report of a semi hitting a cyclist at 10:42 a.m. and they responded to the area of 2600 North 1200 West.

Silva said a 37-year-old woman, later identified as Noreen Macbean of American Fork, was traveling with a group of other cyclists when she was struck by the truck and killed. Both the cyclist and the truck were traveling northbound on 1200 West.

It is not clear what caused the collision to occur, and Silva said they are investigating the incident and interviewing witnesses.
