Uniquely Utah: The Spiral Jetty at Great Salt Lake

This is an archived article and the information in the article may be outdated. Please look at the time stamp on the story to see when it was last updated.

In this week's edition of Uniquely Utah, Todd Tanner takes us to a unique attraction on the Great Salt Lake that was built in the 70s but spent much of the 80s and 90s submerged beneath the water. The art installation reappeared as lake levels dropped in the early 2000s.

Check out the video above for a look at the Spiral Jetty, and click here for more information on the massive piece of art.

Hey Todd – is there any possibility you would post the dog story up on YouTube or your web site even if it does not air on TV? Or is it possible to get a copy of some of the footage or pics? It was such a great experience working with all those people to rescue that dog from the tar pit, it would be nice to share it with friends and family. I also think it would be helpful to others to share the methods we used to get the dog out of that mess. We contacted the owners yesterday and the dog is doing fine; they had to shave him of course, but he was at the pet hospital and recovering.
