VERNAL, Utah –  A local dancer’s video is getting a lot of attention on social media.

Last year, Alissa Sizemore lost one of her lower legs in an auto-pedestrian accident.

Less than a year after the accident, Alissa performed her first solo dance at a competition in Utah.

She danced to Colbie Caillat’s “Try,” a powerful song about loving yourself the way you are.

In the video, you can see Alissa remove her prosthetic in the middle of her performance.

She came in first place.

The video had thousands of views within the first couple of days it was on Facebook with many commenters saying how inspired they were by the performance.

This is absolutely the most beautiful thing I have ever seen! What a darling, and to persevere after losing her leg in an accident, she deserves so much credit! What a darling!~!!!

She absolutely deserved it! What spunk! She’s a good example to others with disabilities like hers.
