SALT LAKE CITY - Police have released the 911 call that led up to an officer shooting a man who attacked him with a shovel.

The deadly confrontation between the Salt Lake officer and 42-year-old James Barker was captured on the officer's body cam last month in the Avenues.

Caller: "He's walking around my neighborhood today looking for people, he can shovel their walks."
911 Dispatcher: "Were weapons involved or mentioned?"
Caller: "No. He is carrying a snow shovel door-to-door though and it's not snowing."

When officers arrived, Barker attacked one with the snow shovel.

Seconds later, the officer shot and killed Barker.

The person who called 911 described Barker as a "suspicious" person who was in the area the day before.

Official said Barker had lived a block away from where he was shot for the past 10 years.

The shooting is under investigation.
