Police in South Salt Lake ask for help finding elderly man who suffers from dementia

SOUTH SALT LAKE – Authorities are asking for help locating an elderly man who they said is missing and endangered, and the man, who police said suffers from dementia, was last seen in South Salt Lake.

According to information from the Utah Department of Public Safety, police are seeking help finding 78-year-old Darwin Daniel Allred. Allred is described as being 5-feet 8-inches tall, and he weighs 200 pounds. The man has brown eyes, gray hair and a short, gray beard.

The man was last seen around 5 p.m. in South Salt Lake, and authorities said he should be driving a 1992 red Dodge Dakota truck with Utah license plate: 845FMN.

Police said the man suffers from dementia and lately has been talking about returning to the Price, Utah area. Anyone who sees the man or the man’s vehicle is asked to call South Salt Lake police at 801-840-4000. Tipsters should reference case number 15G000584.
