SALT LAKE CITY — Utah liquor sales continue to break records.
The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control told FOX 13 that on Christmas Eve, it sold more than $2.6 million at state liquor stores, a 7.3% increase over Christmas Eve 2013.
The six days leading up to Christmas are considered the busiest for state liquor stores. This year, the DABC said it sold $13.6 million in liquor — an 8.2% increase over the same time period in 2013.
The money made from state-run liquor sales goes toward school lunch programs, public safety, and the state’s general fund.
