MIAMI – The Brigham Young University Cougars fell prey to the Memphis Tigers in the Inaugural Miami Beach Bowl Monday.
Memphis won in double overtime 55-48.
BYU rallied back from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, scoring 17 points to take a 45-38 lead.
Memphis tied it up with under one minute to play in regulation to force overtime.
Tension ran high after the game with what appeared to be an altercation between a few BYU and Memphis players.
