SALT LAKE CITY -- Nearly 50 percent of all parents give their child's teacher a holiday gift, according to consumer reports, but will your child's favorite teacher love your gift or toss it in the trash?
Here’s some teacher gifting do’s and don’ts, according to educators who spoke with FOX 13 News.
Don’ts: Mugs, scented lotions, figurines, stuffed animals and anything with an apple on it.
Do’s: Gift cards, classroom supplies, and homemade cards and crafts from children.
Most school districts don’t have any restrictions on holiday gifts, but Utah state law has a threshold of $50 when it comes to gifts for all public employees.
