WASHINGTON – Authorities are putting federal, state and local law enforcement officials on alert after the Senate released the report detailing CIA torture and interrogation techniques.
A joint FBI/Dept. of Homeland Security bulletin issued Tuesday afternoon warned the Senate report could spark reaction from homegrown violent extremists and other terrorist groups.
During a briefing with reporters Tuesday, FBI Director James Comey said the FBI is “focused on whether (the report) generates any activity overseas or from homegrown violent extremists.”
