DEER VALLEY, Utah — After tally of more than a million votes across the world, Deer Valley Resort was dubbed the best ski resort in the
United States for 2014.
This is the second consecutive year Deer Valley has received this recognition from World Ski Awards.
Ski tourism professional worldwide, as well as hundreds of thousands of skiers from 127 countries vote year-round on the resorts across the world, according to a press release from Deer Valley Resort.
The announcement was made at the award ceremonies this weekend in Kitzbuhel, Austria.
“Deer Valley Resort has a time-honored commitment to excellence,” stated Bob Wheaton, president and general manager of Deer Valley Resort, in the release. “This accolade further cements our determination to be a worldwide industry leader. We are thrilled to have earned the distinction for two consecutive years.”
Deer Valley has 21 chairlifts, 100 ski runs, six bowls, 12 restaurants and three day lodges, the release states.
Deer Valley officials boast the resort receives 300 inches of powder each year.
The resort also has 2,026 acres of alpine skiing and a renowned ski school and children’s center.
The World Ski Awards is part of World Travel Awards, which has recognized excellence in the business for the past 21 years.
