CENTERVILLE, Utah – A baby is recovering thanks to fire crews who saved him from drowning in the bathtub.

According to Centerville Police, crews were called to a home on Country Circle where a baby was not breathing Tuesday night.

Officers found the 1-year-old boy didn’t have a pulse and wasn’t breathing.

Crews started CPR and when South Davis Metro Fire arrived, the boy had a pulse but was still not responding.

The baby was flown to the hospital where officials said he is doing “much better” and is expected to recover.

Centerville Police said the boy’s grandmother was giving him a bath when the phone rang.

The grandmother told officers she was on the phone for only one to two minutes and when she came back, she found the boy face down in about four inches of water.

Police said they have no reason to believe this was anything more than an accident.
