Alex Boye belts ‘African Zombie’ to promote charitable 5K, concert in SLC

SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake Comic Con is joining forces with the Utah Rotary Club to bring the Hero Dash and a Zombie 5K together to create an epic event that will feature a concert by Alex Boye and raise money for charity.

Salt Lake Comic Con's The Hero Dash & Scare Out Polio Super Hero & Zombie 5K is scheduled for Saturday at Liberty Park, with registration beginning at 1 p.m. and the run starting at 2 p.m.

Alex Boye is giving a concert, which begins at 3 p.m., and a festival is set for between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to dress as a super hero or a zombie for the event, and there will be a bounce house, cosplayers, booths and other attractions. The proceeds will benefit the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Operation Underground Railroad and Utah Rotary To End Polio Now.
