SALT LAKE CITY -- Montessori School administrators confirmed that the school will be closed for the rest of the week, after the water main break that spilled 2.5 million gallons of water over the weekend.
Crews continue their daunting cleanup effort to salvage equipment and eliminate flood water from the school's basement and hallways.
The school, located on Salt Lake City's East Bench at 2806 East 3300 South, is home to about 200 students ranging from preschool age to third grade.
School officials said the lower part of the building will likely be off limits for 6-8 weeks until everything dries. Administrators plan to house students from that portion of the school in a temporary location conditions improve.
