SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Jazz held their media day for the upcoming season Monday. A brand new coach and a slew of new players have the team excited to prove all of their doubters wrong.

"So much [excitement], I'm just pumped up," said Jazz player Enes Kanter. "I'm ready for the season. It's just the air in here -- it's just the atmosphere, just all the practicing and playing basketball as a team."

With a whole new coaching staff, that means a new playing style and the players think it's going to bring a lot of excitement to the team.

"We have a lot of young talent, we have something really special. Young means to me... just hunger," Kanter said.

Jazz shooting guard Alec Burks said there are pros and cons with being a young team.

"The pros are just fresh legs and being able to recover quicker than veteran team and the cons is just inexperience, that's all it is," Burks said.

Jazz power forward Derrick Favors described the new playing style.

"I think offensively you're going to speed up the pace a little more. Last year we played a lot of half court," Favors said. "I think this year coming in it's going to be more fast paced more up and down, more highlight plays as you all would say."

Playing style on the defensive end, Favors said, is to come out and guard your man.

“Play team defense, having a scheme every game and playing within the team,” he said.

The Utah Jazz has its first preseason game on Oct. 7 against the Portland Trailblazers.
