SALT LAKE CITY — The Human Society of Utah wants to adopt out all its cats, but especially one named Nefertiti.
The 13-year-old tabby’s owner is terminally ill.
Caregivers check on the man every few days but the man’s biggest fear is that Nefertiti will not have a home after he’s gone.
So, he brought the cat to the shelter in hopes that she might find a good home.
“At this point in his life and what he’s dealing with, it would be a comfort for him to have his cat with him, yet he’s willing to make that sacrifice and surrender Nefertiti to make sure his cat, who he loves, gets to a great home,” said Carl Arky, director of communications at the humane society.
