Canadian prosecutors have leveled criminal charges against polygamist leaders with ties to Utah.

A special prosecutor for British Columbia’s Ministry of Justice leveled charges of polygamy against Winston Blackmore and James Oler.

Read the charges against Winston Blackmore and James Oler:

Oler, who heads up the Fundamentalist LDS Church’s community in Bountiful, British Columbia, also faces a charge of unlawfully removing a child from Canada. Similar charges were also leveled against Brandon Blackmore and Emily Crossfield.

All four were expected to make their first appearance in court on Oct. 9.

Blackmore, a former leader in the FLDS Church, is currently under investigation by the Utah Attorney General’s Office. FOX 13 reported in March that Blackmore admitted in a deposition to marrying an underage girl.

The Utah Attorney General’s Office has said its investigation into Blackmore is ongoing.
