CARBON COUNTY, Utah – Most of the mud has been cleared out of homes in Carbon County that experienced flooding, but there is still work to be done.

The towns of Helper and Spring Glen are cleaning up after a downpour sent water, mud and debris flooding down streets and into homes earlier this week.

Officials with the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office said at least 160 homes were impacted by the flooding, and many of those homeowners do not have flood insurance. As a result, county officials are requesting help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Officials are asking those in the area who experienced damages to contact 435-472-4357 to report the damages.
