SALT LAKE COUNTY — A 48-year-old man has been arrested after pushing a woman from a moving vehicle in Sardine Canyon, officials said Monday night.

According to Lt. Lee Perry with Utah Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. near mile marker 13.

Perry said 48-year-old Daniel Talbot was driving a pickup truck and is accused of slowing down to 10 – 15 mph and pushing out a 51-year-old woman.

The victim was taken to Logan Regional Hospital.

Perry said a witness spotted Talbot on Interstate 15 in Davis County and called UHP.

Perry said Talbot drove through Davis and Salt Lake counties and eventually headed east on I-80.

The suspect then exited the freeway at 1300 East.

Perry said Talbot traveled north then headed east on 2100 South and was eventually stopped at Highland High School.

Perry said Talbot had a smell of alcohol on his breath and the deputy administered a field sobriety test.

Upon further investigation, Perry said it was determined that Talbot was driving on a suspended driver’s license, is an alcohol restricted driver and was in violation of not having an interlock ignition device in his vehicle.

Talbot was booked into Salt Lake County Jail.
