SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City Police Department officials said they are now investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead in a local hotel room Thursday morning.
According to information from Salt Lake City police, hotel management at 154 W. 600 S. called authorities at about 9 a.m. when they found the body of a 34-year-old woman in a room.
Police did not provide the name of the hotel but the address provided is for the Royal Garden Inn.
Fox 13 spoke to family members who confirmed her name as Holly Nicole Carges.
None of her relatives wanted to be identified but said she was a mother of three who worked for years at a supermarket.
They also said she had a long-time boyfriend.
Her relatives said Carges didn't do drugs and they have no idea why she would have been at the hotel or why anyone would want to kill her.
It is now up to the state medical examiner to determine how she died.
