No animals hurt in Sandy barn fire

SANDY, Utah — A barn in Sandy caught fire early Thursday morning, but all of the animals who occupied the barn were able to get out safely.

Crews responded to the barn, which is located at 490 E 10600 S, around 5:30.

According to the Sandy Fire Department, the barn was fully enfulfed when they arrived.

Since the barn contains hay and other flammable debris, firefighters sprayed foam to ensure the fire won’t reignite.

The barn is a total loss and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
