WENDOVER, Nev. — A Salt Lake City man is dead after colliding with a light pole on Interstate 80 near Wendover Saturday morning, according to the Department of Public Safety.
At approximately 6 a.m. a motorist came upon a black Mazda near mile marker 1 that hit a street light, DPS officials say.
When the driver approached, officials say, the motor was cold and the victim was still buckled in his seat belt.
The victim, Abraham Majok, 34, was dead at the scene.
Officials say skid marks indicate that Majok either fell asleep or had a medical issue then over corrected and crashed into the pole, sustaining head injuries.
Police don’t know how long it was before the accident was discovered.
