CLEARFIELD — A small child was hit by a car Friday afternoon in Clearfield.

A dispatcher told FOX 13 a medical helicopter was sent to transport the 15-month-old victim to Primary Children’s Medical Center, forcing officials to close State St. in the area near 350 S.

Police identified the victim as Paisley Padilla.

Chief Greg Kusi of the Clearfield Police Department said the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. at the Clearfield Mobile Home Park.

Kusi said a man unfamiliar with the area stopped to ask for directions from the victim’s grandmother, who was babysitting the 15-month-old girl. After receiving directions, the man backed his vehicle up, which is when the child was struck.

Paisley was conscious and breathing when she was transported, and officials said the child had injuries to her right arm, right leg and forehead.

Kusi said there were several children playing in the area when the accident occurred.
