JEREMY RANCH -- It was a quiet afternoon at the corner of Jeremy Circle and Lariat Road Wednesday afternoon, but earlier that morning it was a different story: The streets were lined with police.

“I looked out the front and noticed several police cars," Witness Paul Noetling said. "There must have been six or eight that, I didn't even know why they were out front. They hovered over the top here."

Summit County Police, a helicopter and K-9 units were searching the Jeremy Ranch neighborhood, looking for two suspects who were on the loose. It all started at 5 a.m. Wednesday when dispatch received a call about vehicle burglaries in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart at Kimball Junction. At first they were unable to find the suspect vehicle.

“About a half hour later the deputy located the vehicle, which was a U-Haul van and attempted to make a traffic stop," said Capt. Justin Martinez of the Summit County Sheriff's Office. "The vehicle fled from the deputy and was headed on a frontage road."

This led to a chase. Deputies spiked the U-Haul’s tires and then the van crashed through a fence

“Two of the three fled on foot, and one was taken into custody on scene; a search was started for the other suspects,” Martinez said.

Police surrounded the neighborhood

“The police officer told me to shut my door and stay inside,” Noetling said.

Shortly after that, deputies found another suspect, a woman, and took her in custody. The third suspect was captured later in the afternoon.
