Body found in Memory Grove, death possibly related to alcohol

SALT LAKE CITY – A deceased man was found in Memory Grove in Salt Lake City Sunday night, and officials said alcohol may have been a factor in the death.

Lt. Eddie Cameron of the Salt Lake City Police Department told FOX 13 News the body was spotted by someone inside the park, and the report came in to police shortly after 5 p.m.

Cameron said the body was found wrapped in a blanket on a ledge some distance away from a path in the park, and he said the death does not appear to be suspicious.

The man’s address is listed as that of a local homeless shelter, and Cameron said the man has a history of substance abuse. The man’s name has not been released.
