SALT LAKE CITY -- Two brothers were booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail Thursday after they allegedly conspired to sell over $40,000 in Apple products stolen from a Best Buy store in Murray.

According to probable cause statements, the store was burglarized on April 7. Investigators learned Robert Paul Tucker was allegedly trying to sell computers that were taken during the burglary.

Police made arrangements to purchase the computers, then apprehended Robert and his brother Matthew during a traffic stop at 2100 S 700 E.

"There was some high-end computer components and we were able to work with the Cottonwood Heights Police Department and track that stuff down," said Det. Jeff Maglish, Murray Police Department. "That's what we were able to catch the two individuals with."

Matthew Tucker allegedly had a 9mm handgun hidden in his waistband at the time of his arrest.

The Tucker brothers were taken to the Murray Police Station to be interviewed.

According to their probable cause statements, both brothers admitted to knowing the property was stolen and planned to sell it for a profit. Police said these admissions were made after they had been read their Miranda rights.

Both brothers face several felony and misdemeanor charges, including conspiracy to commit a second-degree felony and conspiracy to possess/receive stolen property.
