SYRACUSE, Utah -- This video courtesy of Dallin Johnson shows a car on fire in a parking lot at Syracuse High School.
Assistant Fire Chief Joe Hamblin, Syracuse Fire Department, said the fire began as classes were letting out for the day.
Hamblin said a student who owns the 1998 Chevy saw smoke coming from the hood and called firefighters. The car burst into flames, and a bus driver tried to put the fire out using an extinguisher. Firefighters arrived and extinguished the blaze.
The vehicle is a total loss. No other vehicles were damaged, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but is believed to be accidental. FOX 13 News will have more information as it becomes available.
