SALT LAKE CITY — About 12,000 people were temporarily without power in Utah County and the Riverton area due to a transmission interruption Wednesday afternoon.

According to Rocky Mountain Power’s website, 9,227 customers in the 84003 and 84004 zip codes did not have service. In Riverton and Bluffdale, 3,523 customers were without power in area codes 84065, 84095 and 84096. The power was restored later Wednesday afternoon.
