Crews extinguish Cottonwood Heights house fire

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah -- Fire crews are investigating a house fire that started in the attic in a Cottonwood Heights home Monday.

It happened just before 8:30 p.m. at a home near 7300 South and 2200 East.

When crews arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from the roof. They said they were able to safely evacuate the family, and extinguish the fire quickly.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Crews said their is minimal damage to the home.
