SALT LAKE CITY –A challenger has arisen against Mia Love for the democratic seat in the 4th District.
Doug Owens, son of late Rep. Wayne Owens, confirmed his intent to run against Love Tuesday afternoon.
The seat was left vacant after former Rep. Jim Matheson announced he would run for another term.
Dave Hansen, Love’s campaign manager, released the following statement:
“We fully expected that a Democrat would run, but that does not change Mayor Love’s plans. She’s not running against any particular person. She is running to represent the good people of the 4th district with principles that will reign in spending and make the federal government more responsive to the people.”
