Spot of blood thought to be juice puts twist in murder case

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY — Prosecutors in the case of a Burmese immigrant accused of murdering his 7-year-old neighbor revealed Wednesday that a stain previously thought to be juice was actually blood.

Esar Met is currently on trial for the murder of Hser Ner Moo, who was killed in 2008.

The young girl was found dead in the basement where Met lived, but the blood stain in question was found upstairs–which is where Met’s roommates lived.

Met’s attorneys filed for a mistrial in response to the revelation regarding the blood stain, but within hours they withdrew their request. The stain will be used as evidence in the trial.
