SALT LAKE CITY – A family from Park City has an annual tradition that helps people who are homeless by providing them with food and warm clothing as the new year begins.

Dar Hendrickson and his family travel from Park City to Pioneer Park to feed the homeless each year on New Year’s Day.

The family brought chili and soup, as well as dozens of coats and other warm clothing donated by the community.

“I get great satisfaction out of people when they get something warm, they get something to eat,” Hendrickson said. “They are some of the most thankful people that I have ever met in my whole life, and that brings me a lot of satisfaction to see their faces and their appreciation."

The family said they have been doing this for six years, and they said they plan to continue the tradition in the years to come.
