MAGNA, Utah -- The National Weather Service has reported that nearly the entire state of Utah was blanketed in snow overnight.

The city of Magna received more than 11 inches in some parts. For many, Sunday was not a day of rest, and almost everywhere you looked Magna residents were hard at work.

Tom Sudweeks used his tractor to plow the roads and driveways around his neighborhood. He said it may not have been hard labor, but with so much snow it was still a time consuming task.

“Not too hard, got the tractor here,” he said. “It’s pretty easy work, a little bit of fun too. It’s probably one of the biggest storms we’ve had for a while."

There are several important things to remember when shoveling snow: It is illegal to push snow into the roads or gutters, and if you have a fire hydrant near your home, make sure to clear the snow on or around it.
