TOOELE COUNTY, Utah –Two trains passed through an area in Tooele County where a man was found hit early Monday morning, police say.
Lt. Adrian Day with the Tooele Police Department said a Union Pacific conductor saw 32-year-old Jeremy North running down the tracks.
The conductor told police he was unsure if he hit North.
At approximately 3:10 a.m. a conductor on a second train came through and reported a dead body on the side of the tracks. Police responded to the scene and discovered the man was alive but badly injured.
It had been determined North was hit by a train but police are unsure which one.
The victim was in critical condition and taken to an area hospital via helicopter.
Day said police are still investigating how the accident happened.
