1 dead, 2 injured after 3-vehicle crash in Cache County

CACHE COUNTY, Utah — Police are investigating a three-vehicle accident in Cache County that left one man dead and two others injured Wednesday.

Officers said the accident happened around 7 a.m. at 3600 South and 1200 West between Hyrum and Nibley.

Police said two vehicles were traveling northbound on 1200 West, and another vehicle was has heading southbound. One of the northbound vehicles attempted to pass the other and ended up clipping it, and then hitting the southbound vehicle head-on.

The man who was driving the southbound vehicle was later pronounced dead. His name has not yet been released.

Two other people involved in the crash were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers said the accident is still being investigated.
