PROVO, Utah – Brigham Young University starting linebacker Spencer Hadley was facing a five game suspension for violating the school’s honor code, but team officials announced Friday the suspension had been reduced to three games and Hadley was allowed to return to the team Wednesday.
Hadley was suspended Sept. 17 after a photo that appeared to show him partying in a Las Vegas nightclub surfaced, and Hadley later admitted he was drinking alcohol—which is against BYU’s honor code.
BYU spokesman Brett Pyne told FOX 13 News Friday that Hadley had been cleared by the school to return to play. Pyne said it would be up to Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall to decide if Hadley will play in Saturday’s homecoming game against Georgia Tech.
