LAYTON, Utah — A man was arrested Thursday in connection with a robbery that took place at a Layton convenience store Tuesday.

Detectives said they arrested Tyler Hart, 36, Thursday after following a tip from a citizen who recognized the suspect from a news report.

Officers said Hart confessed to robbing a Layton Sinclair Convenience store on Oct. 8 and Oct. 9. Hart also confessed to committing three other robberies in the Bountiful area since May, 2013.

Detectives said they found clothing in Hart’s vehicle that matched the clothing he was wearing during the Sinclair Convenience Store robbery. Hart was also identified by the store clerk who was working at the time of the robbery on Oct. 9.

Hart now faces aggravated robbery charges.
