SPANISH FORK, Utah – It was supposed to be the nation’s first “open-carry” gun run, but a 5K run promoting Second Amendment rights has been canceled.
The Run For Guns 5K was scheduled for this weekend in Spanish Fork, and runners planned to openly carry firearms as they ran the course.
Event organizers said they put the event together to celebrate Second Amendment rights and to show others that gun owners are normal people.
Event organizers said the run was canceled due to, “internal issues.”
