Suspect in Roy fatal shooting in custody

ROY, Utah -- Roy Police have arrested a man in connection with fatal shooting of a 23-year-old man Sunday morning.

Ruben Alvarado Nava III, 40, was arrested Monday as part of the investigation into the death of Mario Saucedo.

Just after midnight on Sunday, officers were dispatched to 2950 W. 4650 South on a party disturbance where a possible gunshot was heard.

Saucedo was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead early Sunday morning.

Investigators located Nava at an apartment in Clearfield and took him into custody without incident, according to Bryce Weir, Roy City Police Department.

Police also arrested Rudy and Samantha Martinez on obstruction of justice charges in relation to the case.

Nava was booked into Weber County Jail and potential charges are being screened by the Weber County Attorney's Office.
