DRAPER, Utah -- Canyons School District held a special ribbon cutting Tuesday for the brand new Corner Canyon High School in Draper.
The project has been in the works for several years, and was completed with the help of a $250 million bond approved by voters in 2010.
Some of the features of the new school include state-of-the art science labs, and expanded cafeteria and kitchen, two-story academic classroom wings, a 120-seat lecture hall and a 1,200-seat auditorium.
The school also has a 3,300-seat competition gymnasium that meets NCAA standards, two auxiliary gyms, a track and artificial turf football field with 3,500 home seats and 1,200 visitor seats, eight tennis courts, and a baseball and softball complex.
Students will start school in the new building on August 19.
