SALT LAKE CITY —  A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after he fell out of an all-terrain vehicle and hit his head Saturday.

The incident occurred at 5791 West 2100 South in West Valley City at a UDOT storage facility.

John Gleason, Utah Department of Transportation spokesman, said one of their employees and his son were test driving a personal ATV they were fixing up at that location.

“The father reports that the 16-year-old boy slumped forward and then fell out of the vehicle, hit his head, and he has been transported in critical condition,” Gleason said.

The teen was taken to University Hospital via medical helicopter.
