RICHFIELD, Utah — Richfield City Police responded to a robbery at Richfield Hampton Inn Saturday at 3 a.m.

When officers arrived they spoke to the night clerk who reported that a man came into the lobby asking about a room.

“He then produced a handgun and told the clerk to give him all the cash,” according to a press release from Richfield police. “The suspect took the cash and ordered the clerk onto the floor and told the clerk to count to 100.”

The clerk called 911 after hearing the suspect leave the building.

The incident is still under investigation.
