SALT LAKE CITY -- Prosecutors have charged a Salt Lake City man Monday for allegedly kidnapping a woman and leading cops on a high-speed chase.

Twenty-year-old Jeremy Deangilo Storm tried to kill the victim and may have used another woman to assist in the crime, said The Salt Lake County District attorney.

Prosecutors said Storm met the victim for breakfast at McDonald's located at 210 W. 500 South, July 24.  He reportedly kidnapped her at gunpoint after she confronted him over her missing wallet.

"Basically (he) says 'this is what happens when you disrespect me' and the kidnapping is alleged," said District Attorney Sam Gill.

The suspect then allegedly drove with the victim to South Salt Lake and picked up another woman. The three then went to Olympic Park in Park City where the victim claims the other woman assisted in a vicious attack.

"He (Storm) admits trying to kill her as well as witnessed by multiple people in Park City where he tries to run her over with his car," Gill said.

The victim escaped. Witnesses called 911 and Utah Highway Patrol troopers spotted Storm’s vehicle in Parley's Canyon. Troopers chased Storm down Interstate 80 to Millcreek, where he hit two cars before crashing into a fence in a neighborhood off 23rd East and 29th South.

Prosecutors said there was marijuana and methamphetamine in his truck.

"It was just a mess and the smell of marijuana, yeah it reeked," said neighbor Bob Durrant.  "He just seemed a little like he didn't really care about what was going on."

The other woman was initially taken to the hospital but has not been arrested.  Prosecutors are still trying to determine whether she was truly an accomplice.

In a twist, cops later arrested the victim. Jerrica Salazar was busted on warrants totaling 76,000, mostly drug charges.

FOX 13 typically doesn't identify victims but in this case, both the victim and suspect have criminal records.

Storm faces charges of drug possession, aggravated kidnapping and attempted murder.
