SALT LAKE CITY – Murray police have identified the body of a man who was found in Big Cottonwood Creek Monday.
Officer Jeff Maglish of the Murray Police Department said the man is 23-year-old Seth Wyatt Brown. Maglish said the Medical Examiner’s Office reports that drowning was a contributing factor in his death.
Murray police officials said they received a call to respond to 4665 South Van Winkle Expressway Monday around 1:30 p.m., where a citizen had reported what appeared to be a body in Big Cottonwood Creek. Brown did not have any kind of identification on him, and he was wearing camouflage pants.
Maglish said Brown is homeless and has been known to live in the area near where he was found. He said they are waiting on a toxicology report, and at this time they are not treating it as a suspicious death and have closed their investigation.
