Cinder block building targeted in Price explosion

PRICE — Price City Police said a cinder block building was the target of an “explosive event” Tuesday afternoon.

The explosion occurred at 4 p.m. in a 16′ x 16′ building owned by Emery Telcom. Police said the building is on top of Wood Hill and was totally empty at the time of the blast.

The explosion could be heard throughout many areas of Carbonville and northern Price.

Price police detectives, Price City Fire Chief Paul Bedont and members of the Utah Bomb Squad Task Force investigated the scene.
