WEST POINT -- Road crews have patched a large sinkhole near 275 North and 2000 West in West Point after it damaged a truck.

Two pictures the DCSO posted on Facebook and Twitter show the front of a Toyota pickup truck lodged in the sinkhole. The driver was not injured.

"Unfortunately, this pickup discovered it the hard way," the Facebook posting said.

At around 2 p.m., the sinkhole was about 8-feet deep and 5-feet wide.

Utah Department of Transportation officials said the sinkhole was caused by a leaky irrigation pipe. The sinkhole has been patched, and the street is now open.

The irrigation pipe is owned by the Clearfield Irrigation Company, and they will be the ones responsible for fixing the pipe.
