SANDY, Utah - 11-year-old Lexi Walker took Utah by storm last weekend as she sang the national anthem before a Real Salt Lake soccer match. Now, her voice is gaining national attention, but for Lexi, it's all about being about to do what she loves.

Lexi performed the national anthem before Real Salt Lake's home match against Vancouver.

Almost overnight, a YouTube video of Lexi's performance went viral, and her voice is now being heard around the country.

"It was really fun and then I realized I had the opportunity to sing the anthem at the Real game and of course that was super exciting because I've never sang in a stadium before," Lexi said.

For the Peruvian Park Elementary student, singing is just a part of who she is.

"I love singing. Like I think music plays a huge role in my life right now," she said.

Lexi won the Canyon School District's "Canyon Idol" competition earlier this year, and she's always had a love for performing. She's currently in musical theater classes and preparing for a trip to Denver to sing later this summer.

"It has been a little crazy but really fun. Me and my mom have had a great time doing it. Flying around, being busy, but also having all these great experiences," she said.

Despite becoming an Internet sensation over the last few days, Lexi says she doesn't think of herself as a superstar.

"I would call it lucky recognition maybe, but I wouldn't say superstar," Lexi said.
