VERNAL, Utah – A theft of Jurassic proportions means a model dinosaur at a Utah museum will be without a leg to stand on.

Vernal police said thieves stole the artificial thigh bones from a model of a Diplodocus. The bones were located outside of the Utah Field House of Natural History in Vernal.

The bones are made of concrete and pumice, and each weighs several hundred pounds. The folks in Vernal were shipping the bones to another museum in Price.

Museum personnel said they just want the bones back, and they will accept them with no questions asked.
