OGDEN, Utah -- A 24-year-old man was stabbed Tuesday morning at an assisted-living center in Ogden.

The stabbing occurred around 6 a.m. at the St. Benedicts Manor building, 3000 Polk Ave. Police received several phone calls about the incident, and were informed of a young man running around with stab wounds.

"[The victim] at one point pulled the fire alarm to try to get assistance. So there was a lot of confusion, a lot of chaos going on this morning. We weren't really sure what was going on until we got there. There were a lot of people out. There was the fire alarm that was going off. The scene was a mess. There was blood everywhere," said Lt. Chad Ledford, Ogden Police Department.

The victim was the guest of someone who lives at the building and had attended a party there Monday night. He sustained stab wounds to his chest, back, biceps and hand.

"We're not sure why the group was at the house. This was a younger group of individuals. As far as we know the person who actually rents that room, they are themselves at the hospital. We believe it's a family member staying there, through the party and we're dealing with the after effects this morning," Ledford said.

The victim is now recovering in the hospital and police say he's conscious.

Police believe the victim knows the attacker, but no arrests have been made.
