SALT LAKE CITY – A University of Utah swimming coach accused of sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl will not have his contract renewed.

Coach Greg Winslow was suspended last week after Arizona police were notified that he had allegedly abused a teenage girl over a two-year period starting when she was 15.

Dr. Chris Hill, the University of Utah’s Director of Athletics, says Winslow’s contract as the head swimming coach will not be renewed.

Hill says the university decided that it was in the best interest of student athletes and the well-being of the program to not renew the contract.

Winslow will remain on paid leave until further notice.

Assistant Coach James Winchester is taking over as swimming coach.
